Q. What sizes and shapes do the cushions come in?

A. We make several basic cushion shapes that fit a variety of seats and we make cushions that are disigned for specific bikes. We also offer custom shapes from your pattern or disigned by request.

Q. How thick is your cushion?

A. Approximately 3/8 of an inch, there is a slight variation at times. The thickness gives the desired results while minimizing seat height problems.

Q. What colors are the cushions available in?

A. We make the cushions only in black.

Q. Do you make a cushion that covers both the front and rear seat?

A. All cushions are made for either the front or the rear portion of the seat. It is possible to make the two connect with velcro.

Q. What is the life expectancy of the cushion?

A. Under normal conditions, many years. We continue to get reports on cushions purchased in 1993 that are still in service. The gel inside the cushion has been used extensively for wheelchair cushions and Hot/Cold therapy products for nearly 20 years.

Q. Does the cushion need to be fastened to the seat?

A. The bottom cover is a specially selected textured neoprene material with superior adhesive properties. This adhesive quality makes the cushion stay in place. Standing up on the foot pegs while riding could create a situation where the wind might blow up the edge of the cushion and remove it from the seat. We do offer an optional attaching strap ($10.00) for those who prefer added security of cushion placement.

Q. Can the cushion be used when riding in the rain?

A. Both the top and bottom materials of the Buns-Ez cushion are waterproof. The top material will become damp, but moisture will not penetrate the membrane on the backside of this material. We DO NOT recommend submerging the cushion as water could possibly penetrate the stitched seam around the edge. All cushions made after March of 1998 have the stitched seam sealed with a liquid vinyl.

Q. Can the cushion (gel) be placed under the top cover of the seat?

A. Yes, it could be, but we DO NOT recommend that it be done, and we are not set up to do that kind of seat modifications.

Two important reasons why we feel our gel SHOULD NOT be placed under the top cover of your motorcycle seat:

1. The top cover of the Buns-Ez cushion is a stretchable material that moves and gives with the gel, allowing your sitting bones to "sink-in", relieving pressure and discomfort. Placing the gel under ANY material that does not stretch and flex, such as leather or vinyl, will greatly diminish this feature.

2. Permanently placing the gel on or in the seat limits its usefulness for other applications. But even more important, the gel cannot be removed from extreme temperatures, hot or cold. Our gel has the ability to maintain temperatures for extended periods of time, acting as a "heat sink" under your buns. This "heat sink" feature greatly reduces perspiration and chafing. Leaving the cushion exposed to the hot sun will quite often make it too warm to sit on.

Q. Can the cushion be used with a lambs wool?

A. Yes, for best results place the Buns-Ez cushion on top of the wool. This will give the gel more flexibility and maintain the "heat sink" effect.

Q. The top cover of the Buns-Ez cushion wrinkles when in position on some bike seats, does this cause any discomfor, do you feel these wrinkles?

A. Because the gel gives and flexes, minor imperfections such as folds, wrinkles, pant seams, pocket edges, etc. "sink-in" into the gel and are most often not felt.
